"The more pure the color in a diamond, the more rare it is"
Diamonds come naturally in a wide variety of colors. Diamonds are graded using the GIA color scale; beginning from the letter D (colorless),
and continuing alphabetically to the letter Z (being more yellow and less desirable). The absence of color (colorless) in a diamond allows the light
to pass through the stone. Truly colorless grade D diamonds are treasured for their rarity and value. A diamond with less color will appear and look
cleaner, crisper, and more brilliant. A diamond that is more yellow will appear and look darker and less brilliant. While many diamonds appear
colorless, they may actually have subtle yellow or brown tones and these color grades include P and Q. Although still beautiful, they will be
less rare and therefore less valuable. To appreciate the simple beauty of each individual stone, you should compare diamonds side by side with your
jeweler. "Fancy" diamonds, in well-defined colors include red, pink, blue, green and canary yellow, are highly prized and particularly rare.
