Pointer's Jewelers has a very interesting historical past. Originally established as L. Megede Jewelers and Optometrist. Mr. Megede, a silversmith, moved to Richmond from Lexington, Mo. after the civil war. He served the community as a fine watchmaker and jeweler and through the years added many merchandise items to the inventory.

By the late 1800's they sold not only jewelry and eye glasses, but added musical instruments, guns, golf equipment, wall paper and victrolas. Interesting account ledgers (accounts receivables) dating back to the 1870's, list many prominent residents and their purchases.
In the early 1950's, Jack and Bonnie Pointer purchased the store from the Megede family and continued the jewelry tradition. Jack Pointer, an accomplished watch maker, jeweler and hand engraver continued to build a very reliable jewelry business based on customer service, honesty and dependability.

In 1992, Roger Kepple purchased Pointer's Jewelers from Bonnie Pointer McCalley, and continued the tradition of fine jewelry sales and repair. Roger added the service of hand fabricated, custom designed jewelry built to the customer's specifications and exceeding industry standards. Having on staff award winning goldsmiths who are the recipients of many awards, including the prestigious "Diamonds of Today Award" sponsored by DeBeers.
